In 2019, these drivers led to the formation of Craftwater. We brought together the best leaders in the stormwater industry to fundamentally transform watersheds through science-based planning and analysis, ambitious regulatory change, and bold (yet pragmatic) design. And we did it with a candid, light-hearted spirit. Our team is united by a hunger to tackle emerging water issues in new ways and a belief that we can have fun while we’re at it – and we are rapidly growing as a result.

Our Origin

For decades, healthy water quality in urban watersheds has been an elusive goal of the Clean Water Act. There have been serious barriers to progress, from a lack of dedicated funding and misinterpretation of regulations, to unimaginative planning and uninspired design. And nobody seemed to mind. Others continued to recycle the same, stale approaches year after year. In many ways, the system was broken.

But we weren’t ok with that. Over the years, our leaders deliberately built trusted relationships with the most proactive agencies and energized NGOs, who quickly learned the value of our clear-eyed approach. Then, new stormwater funding initiatives finally provided the momentum for us all to begin dismantling old paradigms and crafting a better system for real watershed change.

Our Influence

We've built a company that's agile enough to bring continuous innovation to the market, yet influential enough to help shape key industry trends. Since our founding, we've been personally trusted by some of the largest public works agencies in the country – along with NGOs, regulators, and Fortune 500 companies – to take on some of the most complex and political water challenges. From the concrete jungles of Los Angeles and New York City, to the sprawling farmlands of Central California and quaint coastal towns, our approach has proven successful, project after project.
